Want to learn to TIG weld aluminum?
First you need a decent machine TIG welding. Not a big, fair a decent. He has one? You may have a Synrowave old 300 or a Hobart DialArc old Cybertigi May or have a new Miller Dynasty 350.
You know what? Actually whatever. The same principles apply. If you have an old as TIG welding machine, you can still do good TIG welding of aluminum. Cords welding which resembles a stack of dimes.
First, look at the configuration of your computer:
- Set the polarity A / C (AC)

- 2% lanthanum electrodes are very good order all aluminum electrodes … good for TIG welding and steel.
- Use the small electrode to work without shuddering at the max amperage.
Remote amperage … you need a pedal. Period.
- Once all settings are fine, and assuming that there Welding 1 / 8 inch thick aluminum, take a piece of filler rod 4043 to 3 / 32 "diameter (rarely used one meter thick or thicker as metal welding)
- extend the tip electrode about 1 / 4 "beyond the edge of the TIG torch cup and remove the gas before touch the pedal.
- keep the torch like a pencil great first year. touch the tip of tungsten metal, then pull it around 1 / 8 inch. Flip the hull down and press the pedal to start the arc.
- not immediately melt aluminum, however, see the cook dark matter away from the arcades of the cleaning action before melting metal. Then press the pedal enough to create a pool which is about 3-4 times the thickness of metal welding.
Now begins the section on how to achieve the "pile of Dimes" look. You must add the same amount of cane and moving the torch at the same distance every time you add rod.
